*dolphins are very intelligent mammals.
*the common dolphin (or Delphinus Delphis) is the farstest of the small dolphins attaining speeds of up to 44 kilometres per hour.
*the common dolphin can stay under water for only 3 - 4 minutes compared with bottle-nosed dolphin. They can stay under for about 15 minutes.
*a dolphin changes about 90% of the air it breathes into its lungs with each breath. Most mammals (including Man) change only 15% with each breath.
*the dolphins skin is sleek and its streamlined body is designed to offer little resistance to the water.
*The calf feed by taking hold of one of the nipples which lie in grooves along the side of its mather's stomache.
*The Bottle-Nosed Dolphin is one of the most familiar and well loved of all marine mammals.
*With its short beak opened in its familiar smile you can easily see the Teeth of the Bottle-Nosed Dolphin. They have 20-26 pairs of teeth in each jaw that are a small cone shape.
